Why podcast in seasons?

Podcasting in seasons gives you a sustainable rhythm — focused blocks of episodes, then a real break. It also makes your show more accessible to new listeners.

Want to make a really in-depth, highly-produced show every week? You'll burn out. Take a leaf out of your favourite TV show's book and podcast in seasons instead. A season is a block of episodes — six, twenty, your call — followed by a planned break.

Seasons can be themed, which makes the show easier to dip into. Our fitness podcaster might do a season on upper body strength. The zombie podcaster might do one on post-apocalyptic video games.

The big worry — that listeners will forget about you between seasons — doesn't really play out. Tell them clearly how the show works and how long the break is, and ask them to follow on their listening app. Episodes get delivered automatically; they don't need to remember anything.

Bonus: themed seasons repurpose beautifully into ebooks and courses. The planning and structure work is already done.
