Podcast equipment for online interviews or co-hosts
The kit for online interviews or co-hosts is the same as solo — a Samson Q2U and headphones — plus call-recording software or a hardware recorder.
The Q2U works just as well for remote recordings. You add either call-recording software (covered in the next chapter) or a piece of hardware like the Zoom PodTrak P4, which plugs in multiple mics and records calls — phone and online.
The PodTrak P4 is usually under $200 on Amazon. It even plays music and sound effects 'as live' during recordings, and it doubles as the centerpiece of an in-person setup. That said, for most people, call-recording software wins on sheer simplicity.
Same mic as solo. The decision is software or hardware to capture the other side.
