How to publish your podcast

To publish your podcast you don't upload to Apple or Spotify — you upload once to a podcast host, and your feed pushes out everywhere.

This stage trips up almost every new podcaster.

You don't upload your episodes to Apple or Spotify directly. You create an account with a podcast hosting provider — that's where your podcast actually "lives". Your cover art, your show description, and every episode all sit there.

If your podcast were a magazine, your host is the printing press. Apple, Spotify, and the rest are the shops it gets sold in.

From there, a couple of small steps tell the listening platforms your show exists. Once that's done, you only ever upload to one place — your host — and your episodes are pushed out to hundreds of apps automatically.
