How to create a podcast trailer

A podcast trailer gives potential listeners a flavour of your show — 30–60 seconds, with what it's called, what it's about, who it's for, and where to find it.

A promo trailer wins over potential new listeners by giving them a taste of the show. Trailers can be played on other podcasts too, so they double as a growth tool.

Aim for 30 seconds to a minute. The shorter, the better. You definitely want to mention: what's the show called, what's it about, who is it for, and where can people find it. Creative tone, personality, and production are icing — don't sacrifice the key details for them.

A podcast trailer should be between 30 seconds and a minute. The shorter, the better.

Trailers are also useful because you need at least one episode published on your feed before you can list your show on places like Apple and Spotify. As far as those platforms are concerned, a trailer counts.
