Doing question research

The best episode ideas are answers to questions your audience is actually asking. Find the questions and the episodes write themselves.

If you've got an audience already, you know what they ask. If not, there are two free ways to find out.

First: type something your avatar would ask into Google, then scroll to the bottom. The "People also ask" and related searches are a goldmine. Second: AnswerThePublic.com — type a topic like "sharks" and it spits out every question people ask about it.

"What do sharks eat?" "How do sharks sleep?" "Were sharks before dinosaurs?" Each one is a compelling episode title with built-in search demand.

ChatGPT works for this too — give it your avatar and topic and ask for 20 questions they'd ask. The point is the same: write down the questions, then start answering them.
